Our Chaga Elixir contains a high-quality extract from the Chaga mushroom, which is about 10 times more concentrated than conventional Chaga powder. In cold regions, the Chaga mushroom prefers to grow on birch trees, from which it draws its valuable ingredients. Chaga has been used in Siberia for over 800 years for strengthening the body. During World War II it was a popular coffee substitute because although Chaga is caffeine-free, it has an invigorating effect. In Russia, the immune-boosting and antibacterial Chaga is valued for irritable bowel and gastrointestinal ailments.
Preparation
We recommend dissolving 0,5 g to a maximum of 2 g of the Chaga extract in 200 ml of hot water. The elixir can be drunk pure or prepared like a coffee specialty. It can also be used as an addition to baked goods, smoothies and desserts.
The recommended dose of a maximum of 2 g per day should not be exceeded. It is a highly potent extract that cannot be compared to the usual Chaga powders. We recommend taking a break of one week every 4 weeks.
Where does our chaga come from?
The Chaga extract was collected from birch trees in northeastern China. The production and further processing takes place ecologically according to EU/VO 834/2007 and EU/VO 889/2008. The Chaga extract is obtained by hot water extraction at a maximum of 90 degrees. In contrast to ethanol extraction, no undesirable polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are formed here.

But Chaga can do much more: it works, among other things anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Er takes care of the hunger relief and is metabolism stimulating. We have linked studies on Chaga and other exciting information about this wondrous mushroom here. (in progress)
Why an extract?
Compared to the powder, our Chaga extract has an approximately 10 times higher concentration of polysaccharides. The polysaccharides are extracted from the chitin shell of the fungus with hot water.
Because of the high concentration, the extract is very productive. A highly potent "forest coffee" can be prepared from as little as 1 g of the extract. The extract dissolves well in water and can be drunk pure or prepared like coffee or cocoa.
